4" x 2" Forged Steel Swivel Brake Caster

Kingpinless rigs are best suited for severe shock loads. In a typical rig that has a kingpin, the kingpin hold the top plate to the rig, and is attached with a bottom piece that holds it all together. With the severe shock loads, over time, the kingpin stretches which results in the rig falling apart. By eliminating the kingpin, the rigs are able to handle the shock loads.

Forged steel wheels casters are used in the most heavy duty applications where strength and capacity are paramount. The steel wheels are hot forged from high carbon steel, heated to temperatures over 2000 Fahrenheit, and then hit repeatedly by high tonnage forging hammers. This process gives the wheels a greater grain structure and tensile strength (64,000 psi). The forged steel wheels can be used in the roughest, most demanding, abusive applications on the poorest floors under the heaviest of loads.

Common Applications: Platform Trucks, Material Handling Carts, A-Frame Carts, Freight Terminal Dollies, Ground Support Equipment, Gantries and Hoppers, Trash Containers.

*Please note temperature ratings are dependent upon the bearing selected. Unless noted otherwise in the options, bearings will have a 180°F temperature rating.
