4" x 2" Ductile Steel Wheel Swivel Caster with Face Contact Brake - Part # 146DUCT420SFCB

Manufactured from a high strength steel alloy, ductile steel offers improved capacity, durability & impact resistance compared to standard cast iron wheels. Ductile steel provides approximately 45,000 PSI tensile strength & features a thicker tread, spokes & hubs to withstand abusive industrial applications. Its moderately crowned tread design further reduces friction during rolling, swiveling & directional changes for improved maneuverability.

While ductile steel is very hard, it is tough on floors & could lead to floor damage. For heavy duty floor protective wheels, be sure to check out our polyurethane casters. For applications requiring more capacity, temperature resistance & impact strength, check out our forged steel caster. 

* Please note temperature ratings are dependent upon the bearing selected. Unless noted otherwise in the options, bearings will have a 180°F temperature rating.

* This brake kit has a maximum temperature rating of 180°F due to its plastic pedal construction.

* This face contact brake is not compatible with all casters. However, we've found this particular caster to be one of the few that pairs effectively with it. These brakes are not intended for use on slopes or inclined surfaces. Excessive force or pushing against the wheel may reduce braking effectiveness or cause slippage.
